All was quiet in the Gryffindor tower; no one stirred except for a lone figure sitting at a window. He had been having trouble sleeping lately and it seemed that staring out of the window helped him think. Lost in thought, a silver flash caught Harry's eye. There was no mistaking who was slinking across the castle lawn towards the Forbidden Forrest.

"Malfoy," Harry said to himself.

He looked towards Ron's bed and then back towards Malfoy, who was already three quarters of the way to the Forrest. There wouldn't be enough time to sneak down the conventional way with Ron, if they wanted to see Malfoy was up to. Harry opened his trunk pulled out his invisibility cloak, a piece of parchment, a quill, and an inkbottle. Quickly he scribbled a note and left it on his pillow. Grabbing his Firebolt, he straddled it, threw the cloak over himself, and jumped through the window.

Draco carefully looked around before entering the Forrest. He thought he saw someone standing at a window in the Gryffindor Tower. However when he looked closer there was no one there, just an open window. Silently he entered the Forrest, glancing one last time over his shoulder at the open window.

He tried to move quickly through the under brush but the roots seemed to be grabbing at his feet slowing him down. He was late at it was and this latest nuisance wasn't helping. It had taken longer than expected to sneak out of the castle, because not only did he have to avoid Filch and Mrs. Norris, Peeves had been hovering around the castle doors for what seemed like an eternity. He wished he had an invisibility cloak like Potter, which everyone said was just a rumour but he knew better from first hand experience, it would make things a whole lot easier.

Draco continued through the Forrest until he reached his goal, a small clearing. He entered the clearing and looked around. Not seeing what he came for, he searched the edges just beyond the trees. Crestfallen he turned to go back the way he came, cursing to himself that he should have left earlier.

"Draco," a small voice called out. Draco spun on his heel and faced a petite hooded figure on the other side of the clearing.

"I thought I had missed you." Draco said as walked toward the centre. "I'm sorry I'm late, it was harder to get away this time. You know it would be easier if we could meet somewhere in the castle. It doesn't have to be the Astronomy tower. "

"If we were caught together, no one would understand, you know that," the hooded figure said while walking towards Draco.

"Have to keep up appearances and all. Believe me I know that better than anyone. I just wish that things were different," Draco said bitterly.

Draco reached over and pushed the hood back, warm brown eyes looked up to meet his stormy grey ones. She had such a kind and trusting face, but it was her fiery temper that had drawn him in. She had really let him have it one day in front of the Great Hall for something he had done to Potter or Weasely; he hadn't paid her much mind until that day.

They embraced; he loved how they seemed to fit together, like two puzzle pieces. Slowly he pushed back just enough so he could see her face. She looked up at him a question forming on her lips but before she could get it off, he leant in and kissed her. It was a sweet and somewhat sorrowful kiss as he broke it off. Draco sighed and then turned towards the trees behind him.

"Hallo Potter," he said.
